Tired and need some peace and quiet? You don’t need to pack and go through the hassle of booking, traveling and spending unnecessarily just to get a much needed comfort and relaxation. You can get it right within the familiar comforts of home. Maybe just a little ingenuity and enhancement will do the trick. How about hanging some fabrics here and there to make these light changes for you? You will simply be amazed how a simple touch could provide refinement, sophistication and cooling effect. How it can transform a mere abode into a cozy and comfortable home or a mere structure or space into a world class work of sophistication and flair.

The roman shades have simply made interior designing easy and the most lucrative business for some. The Romans had no idea how far their ingenuity of hanging a fabric between two poles as protection from the sun’s rays would play a role in the present trend of interior design. The roman shades have different types depending on their usage, appearance and types of materials used. Roman shades can either be made from fabric or wood; they can have single or double shade styles depending on what will best fit the space where it will be placed.

Natural Roman Shades

This type comes from Mother Nature herself; wood, bamboo reeds, leaves and Hessian or jute fiber. These materials can be individually used or combined together to create a more unique quality material. This type never fails to provide a homey, warm, yet exotic feeling to your surroundings.

Soft Roman Shades

Since these are made from fabrics you have more freedom to choose what color to use compared to natural roman shades. Blackout lining, plastics or cottons can also be used to achieve an extravagant, fanciful and ideal look.

Double Roman Shades

This type will never fail to protect the homeowner from the intensity of the sun’s rays while providing the much needed privacy that you need. It consists of a back shade and a front shade. The back shade is fixed and made of a soft material while the front shade can be raised or lowered according to how much light you would like to pass through the room.

Blackout Roman Shades

This shade is made of a thick blackout lining that entirely blocks the sunlight from getting into the room. This is made of PVC fabric.

Relaxed Roman Shades

These Roman Shades are made of light and plain materials and are the less formal in appearance. It is the simplest type which intends to downplay its impact in the room.

Thermal Roman Shades

Ideally used in places with a cold temperature, these shades contain an extra layer of heat-retaining material which curtails heat from escaping through the windows.

Matchstick Roman Shades

This type of Roman shades is assembled in a manner fitting to its name. It is made of very small, thin pleats, compiled closely together which provides a very unique impact in the room. It can also be ideal for small windows.
